Lead Teaching Assitant in Information Visualization

I took on more responsibilities working with the Professor for Information Visualization at Northeastern University (Eric Bogert). As this occurred, I worked with students in joint programs with PwC and the Mayo Clinic, operating as the Lead TA among a small team.

Responsibilities

  • Instructed students on graduate-level study in Information Visualization, including data visualization theory, efficient visualization design, and framing of data stories.
  • Adapted teaching to different student backgrounds in different programs, framing data visualization in the context of medical purposes and business auditing through programs in tandem with the Mayo Clinic and PwC, respectively.
  • Handled extremes in course sizes ranging from 20 to over 100 students, providing personalized and individual attention for each course.
  • Managed a team of two other teaching assistants to ensure consistency in grading and quality of advisement, as well as facilitating collaboration between teaching assistants, the course professor, course managers, and the students.
